At Lumaura Psychology Pty Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”), we aim to make things clear and transparent for everyone we work with. These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) explain how our website and services can be used, and what you can expect when working with us.
By booking an appointment or using our website, you’re agreeing to these Terms.
1. Who We Are
We are a Brisbane-based psychology practice providing counselling and psychological support. Our services are delivered by registered psychologists in line with the requirements of:
The Psychology Board of Australia
The Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
Other relevant professional standards and guidelines
We also provide Telehealth services to clients across Australia.
2. About This Website
The information here is for general education only. It is not a replacement for professional advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
Using the website does not create a psychologist–client relationship.
We do our best to keep information up to date but cannot guarantee accuracy or completeness at all times.
3. Telehealth Sessions (e.g., Zoom)
We provide secure online sessions using platforms such as Zoom, which meet privacy and confidentiality standards.
To make the most of Telehealth, you are responsible for ensuring you have:
A safe and private space
Reliable internet and suitable technology
In some cases, Telehealth may not be the most appropriate option. Your psychologist will let you know if in-person support or referral is recommended.
4. Fees & Rebates
Fees are confirmed when you book or as advised by your psychologist.
Payment is required at or before your session unless otherwise agreed.
Medicare rebates may apply with a valid Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP). Private health rebates may also apply depending on your insurer.
Fees may change, but we will give notice where practicable.

5. Cancellations
We understand life happens. If you need to cancel or reschedule:
Less than 24 hours’ notice → Full session fee applies
24–48 hours’ notice → 50% of the session fee applies
More than 48 hours’ notice → No cancellation fee
Please note: rebates cannot be claimed for cancellation fees.
6. Your Privacy
We handle your information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
Notes and records are kept securely and used only to support your care.
Information is only shared with your consent, unless we are legally required (for example, if there is risk of harm or a court order).

7. Limitations of Our Service
Our services are not designed for crisis situations.
If you are in immediate danger or distress, please call 000 or Lifeline (13 11 14).
We are not responsible for any decisions or actions taken based on information from our website.
8. Intellectual Property
All website content (text, graphics, branding, and resources) belongs to Lumaura Psychology Pty Ltd, unless otherwise stated. Please do not reproduce or adapt material without our written permission.
9. Disclaimer
While our psychologists are qualified professionals, we cannot promise specific outcomes from therapy.
Telehealth carries some risks (such as technical problems or interruptions) that are outside our control.
10. Legal Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. Any disputes will be handled through the Queensland courts.
11. Updates
We may update these Terms occasionally. The most recent version will always be available on our website, with the date of the last update clearly shown.
