Mike’s approach is flexible and tailored to each client. He draws on EMDR to help process traumatic and other difficult experiences, IFS to work compassionately with inner conflict, ACT (a type of CBT) to build psychological flexibility, and Motivational Interviewing to support motivation and readiness for change.
Rather than a one-size-fits-all model, he integrates these approaches in collaboration with clients. Research shows that therapy is most effective when adapted to the individual (Norcross & Wampold, 2019).

Yes. Research shows that Telehealth psychology sessions are just as effective as in-person therapy for most mental health concerns. Secure video sessions allow you to access care from the comfort of your own home while still receiving the same level of professional support, confidentiality, and evidence-based treatment. Many clients also find Telehealth more convenient and accessible, helping them to attend sessions more consistently and benefit fully from therapy.

Your first session with Mike focuses on building a foundation for therapy. He will take time to get to know you, understand your concerns, and talk through the goals you’d like to work toward.
Mike may introduce some practical tools you can start using right away. By the end of the session, you’ll have a clear plan tailored to your needs and a sense of the next steps in your therapy journey.

Our fees are guided by the Australian Psychological Society’s (APS) recommended schedule. For example, the APS 2025–2026 recommended fee for a standard 46–60 minute consultation is $318.00.
